35  | 元事李景，歷江寧令、駕部員外郎、文理院待詔，嘗坐事左遷。世宗征淮南，諸郡多下，元求見言兵事，景大悅，遣率兵攻舒州，復之，即以為團練使。又平歷陽，景以元為淮南北面招討使。周師圍壽春，景以其弟齊王景達為元帥，率兵來救，以陳覺為監軍，總軍政。元素與覺有隙，覺密表譖元於景，信之，立遣大將楊守忠代元。元憤怒，自以戰功高，又不忍負景，欲自殺。門下客宋洎諫曰：「大丈夫何往不取富貴，豈必為妻子死哉！」元聽之，將其眾歸世宗，景盡誅其妻子。世宗素知元驍果，得之甚喜，以為檢校太保、蔡州防禦使。淮南平，改濠州防禦使。 |
