46  | 初，其從孫也，璠無子，以初為後。初好讀書，尤長於《春秋》，為文簡而有法，比冠，有聲。中統元年，始立中書省，辟為掾史，兼掌書記。未幾，以祖母老辭歸，隱居教授。會詔左丞許衡、學士竇默及京師諸儒，各陳經史所載前代帝王嘉言善政，選進讀之士，有司以初應詔。帝雅重璠名，方之古直，詢知初為璠子，歎獎久之，即授國史院編修官，尋拜監察御史。首言：「法者，持天下之具，御史臺則守法之司也。方今法有未定，百司無所持循，宜參酌考定，頒行天下。」 |
