1  | 明孫緒撰。緒字誠甫，沙溪其自號也，故城人。弘治己未進士。官至太僕寺卿。是集文八卷、賦一卷、雜著一卷、《無用閒談》六卷、詩七卷。其文沉著有健氣。其《無用閒談》有曰：「文章與時高下，人之才力亦各不同。今人不能為秦、漢、戰國，猶秦、漢、戰國不能為六經也。世之文士，尺寸步驟，影響摹擬，晦澀險深，破碎難讀」云云。其意蓋為李夢陽發，可以見其趨向矣。至於《古今仕學辨》之類，參以排偶，不古不今，則編次者失於刪汰，轉為作者累耳。其《無用閒談》多深切著明之語。《論文》、《論詩》，亦各有確見。王士禎《池北偶談》嘗摘其誤以五代王祚事為彭時事，其說良是。他如論揚雄事亦失當，然要不害其大旨。詩格頗近李東陽，而深以何孟春等注《東陽樂府》稱其過於李、杜為非。蓋譏譽者之溢量，非排擊東陽也。此集舊與馬中錫《東田集》合刊，然學問筆力皆勝中錫，故今摘錄《緒集》，而《中錫集》則存其目焉。 |
