44  | 其三，表聖母之功。天人懸絕，人有祈求，何能遂達？聖母為人性人身，猶屬同類，可藉之以轉達。臣民章奏，必藉大納言，始得上聞。耶穌極愛聖母，故聖母之求，耶穌無不允許；循理之求，聖母無不轉達。特繪此像，導人祈求之法。 |
| 164 | 解罪之事，平日固是諄諄，臨終尤宜汲汲。蓋一息尚存，猶可發心祈求。悔改有一分之至信，即有一分之解力。故撒責爾鐸德每依教規，及時解之。一藉天主降生福力，二藉本人自新誠懇，三藉司教奉命解釋。如別篇所詳者，不問罪輕罪重，皆可得免，得免如甚小孩孺，純然潔淨，生固無愧，死得生天，故以為極幸雲。惟過此一會，咽喉氣絕，再無可為。何論侯王之富貴，何論聖賢之子孫，無力挽回，駢首就獄。故臨死之候，系人鬼關頭，福禍吃緊，是以西士極重之。有可從事，雖極寒極賤，下至病丐殘廢，臭穢不可近之人，一有所聞，攝衣從之，雨夜遠途，徒步之勞，不惜也。原為救其靈性，而昧者認為肉身。肉身不救，遂謂解之無益，豈不愚甚矣哉？ |
