《列傳第一百六十六》
45  | 曾亨應，字子喜，臨川人。父棟，廣東布政使。亨應舉崇禎七年進士。歷官吏部文選主事。十五年秋，有詔起廢，亨應以毛士龍、李右讜、喬可聘等十人上。御史張懋爵劾其納賄行私，亨應疏辨。懋爵三疏力攻，遂被謫去。福王立之明年，江西列城皆不守。亨應命弟和應奉父入閩，而己與艾南英、揭重熙謀城守。會永寧王慈炎招連子峒土兵數萬復建昌，入撫州，寓書亨應。亨應募兵數百，與相掎角。一日，方置酒宴客，大兵至。亨應避右室，其從弟指示之，遂被執，并執其長子筠。亨應顧筠曰：「勉之，一日千秋，毋自負！」筠曰：「諾。」先受刑死。釋亨應縛，諭之降，不答，被戮。和應聞兄死，曰：「烈哉！兄為忠臣，兄子為孝子，復何憾！」既奉父入閩，又走避之肇慶，乃拜辭其父，投井死。先是，棟弟栻為蒲圻知縣，栻兄益為貴州僉事，並死難，人稱「曾氏五節」云。 |
