1  | 鮑武襄公超，四川奉節人。微時在蜀，拐某民家婦，遁而至湘，寄其婦於長沙理問街某刀店。刀店主婦收養之，武襄乃呼為乾阿嬭，隻身赴鄂，謁鄂撫胡文忠公。文忠一見器之，曰：「汝誠將才，若統一二營，必為出奇制勝之偏師也。」武襄大喜，亟還湘，召募湘人兩營，率以見文忠。文忠訝之，意謂實未給劄令募兵，然既來，姑給游餉。自是遂率師勦寇，然以無的餉，故每克一城，許部曲掠三日，三日後則嚴戒秋毫無犯。 |
