52  | 之信與之孝不相能，以之孝嘗典兵，不欲其居廣州，疏請遣還京師。之信殘暴猜忌，醉輒怒，執佩刀擊刺，又屢以鳴鏑射人。楷宗叛復降，上貸其罪，之信杖殺之。護衛張永祥為之信齎疏詣京師，上召見，授總兵。之信故阻抑，復屢辱以鞭箠。怒護衛張士選語忤，射之，殘其足，諸護衛皆不平。國棟與副都統尚之璋、總兵甯天祚密謀圖之信。巡撫金俊疏言：「之信兇殘暴虐，猶存異志。臣察其左右俱義憤不平，因密約都統王國棟等共酌機宜，之信旦夕就擒。乞敕議行誅，以為人臣懷二心者戒。」國棟亦上疏自述與俊、之璋、天祚合謀圖之信，又代之信母舒氏、胡氏疏言：「之信怙惡不悛，有不臣之心。恐禍延宗祀，乞上行誅。」上諭趣之信出師。 |
