8  | 自此敕洎令與岑文本同馬周遞日往東宮，與皇太子談論。太宗嘗怒苑西守監穆裕，命於朝堂斬之，皇太子遽進諫。太宗謂司徒長孫無忌曰：「夫人久相與處，自然染習。自朕臨御天下，虛心正直，即有魏徵朝夕進諫。自徵云亡，劉洎、岑文本、馬周、褚遂良等繼之。皇太子幼在朕膝前，每見朕心悅諫，昔者因染以成性，固有今日之諫耳。」十八年，遷侍中。太宗嘗謂侍臣曰：「夫人臣之對帝王，多順旨而不逆，甘言以取容。朕今發問，欲聞己過，卿等須言朕愆失。」長孫無忌、李勣、楊師道等咸云：「陛下聖化致太平，臣等不見其失。」洎對曰：「陛下化高萬古，誠如無忌等言。然頃上書人不稱旨者，或面加窮詰，無不慚退，恐非獎進言者之路。」太宗曰：「卿言是也，當為卿改之。」 |
