昭愍初即位，李逢吉用事，與翰林學士李紳素不葉，遂誣紳以不測之罪，逐於嶺外。紳同職駕部郎中知制誥龐嚴、司封員外郎知制誥蔣防，坐紳黨左遷信、汀等州刺史。黜詔下，敖封還詔書。時人以為與嚴相善，訴其非罪，皆曰：「於給事犯宰執之怒，伸龐、蔣之屈，不亦仁乎？」及駁奏出，乃是論龐嚴貶黜太輕，中外無不大噱，而逢吉由是獎之。尋轉工部侍郎，遷刑部，出為宣歙觀察使、兼御史中丞。

傳師擢進士，登制科乙第，授太子校書郎、鄠縣尉，直史館，轉左拾遺、左補闕，並兼史職。遷司門員外郎、知制誥，召充翰林學士。歷司勛、兵部郎中，遷中書舍人。性恬退無競，時翰林未有承旨，次當傳師為之，固稱疾，宣召不起，乞以本官兼史職。俄兼御史中丞，出為潭州刺史、湖南觀察使。入為尚書右丞。出為洪州刺史、江南西道觀察使，轉宣州刺史、宣歙池觀察使。入為吏部侍郎。太和元年卒，年五十九，贈吏部尚書。
