| 2 | 臣天麟言炎圖紹復、偉光皇節約之規，彛典彚分，倣唐室纂修之體，非獨考治原之粹駁，抑將觀世變之盛衰，上瀆離明，俯増震懼，臣天麟實惶實懼，頓首頓首，竊以立經紀而為法，則實古聖之宏猷，作書志以緯天人，蓋史臣之新例。然典章文物，或散見於紀傳，而兵刑食貨曽莫究於源流，是以皇朝崇㑹稡之書，端由列聖篤緝熙之學，必儒臣乃獲在編摩之局，必宰相乃兼司提領之權，博採旁搜，裒次不遺於五閏，取近舎逺，討論未及於兩都，其在明時，詎非缺典，自匪昈分於副墨，若何昭揭於汗青？肆加綜輯之廑，具列坦明之憲，因班書而為㑹，要已塵先皇乙夜之觀，即范史而析綱條，庶備大漢兩朝之制，雖極鑚研之力，寧逃踳駁之譏，功適告成，理若有待。恭惟皇帝陛下，聖由天縱，道本乾剛明，及時徳業之修，究稽古禮文之事，雖綱維治道，常恪遵祖宗宏逺之模，然參酌舊章，必博攷漢唐沿革之緒，取善不卑於葑菲，獻書敢緩於芻蕘，冒塵清宴之閒，庶冀涓埃之益。臣材能拘譾學識，迂疎窮經，不足以探微，嗜史乃幾於成癖，頃效美芹之獻，誤膺華衮之褒，迨兹勉紹於前功，冀以兼存於丕式，集事迹而為鑑，或可參往牒之言，條章奏而請行，期有補當今之務臣，無任瞻天望聖，激切屏營之至。所有新編東漢㑹要》四十卷、目録一卷，繕寫成四十冊，謹隨表上進以聞。臣天麟實惶實懼，頓首頓首，謹言寳慶二年六月二十二日奉議郎、武學博士臣徐天麟上表。 |
