35  | 合肥張勇烈公樹珊，於同治五年十二月，與捻匪相拒於德安府□□縣城外新家閘，閘中小地有名倒樹灣者，原系追牰至。勇烈所統「樹」字五營，以兩營守輜重，自率一營臨河而陣，餘貳營分左右翼。時已夜半，河水淺涸，馬足能踏，勇烈不知也。捻匪素以馬隊作戰，是夜馬尤眾，踰河而來，急如風雨，寡眾懸殊，勇烈自不能敵。捻匪知為頭目，以一矛刺之下馬，復手刃之。先文莊公時統軍繼至，親見其身，謂面目如生，腰間受矛傷，喉間受刃傷。其營中部曲，已預備芒鞋布襪，欲以為斂。先文莊公堅不允，命將其忠骸抬至德安府城。其部曲私謂：恐城內不受。先文莊公告以豈有此理，曾九大人，自己帶勇出身，深知甘苦，殉難之人，豈敢薄待，始得以禮服殮。先文莊公當時自撰挽聯，至為悲痛，人爭傳誦，惜年久，先文莊公已不能記憶矣。 |
