2  | 母猪取短喙无柔毛者良。喙长则牙多；一厢三牙以上则不烦畜，为难肥故。有柔毛者，爓治难净也。 牝者，子母不同圈。子母同圈，喜相聚不食，则死伤。牡者同圈则无嫌。牡性游荡，若非家生，则喜浪失。圈不厌小。圈小则肥疾。处不厌秽。泥污得避暑。亦须小厂，以避雨雪。 春夏草生，随时放牧。糟糠之属，当日别与。糟糠经夏辄败，不中停故。八、九、十月，放而不饲。所有糟糠，则蓄待穷冬春初。猪性甚便水生之草，杷耧水藻等令近岸，猪则食之，皆肥。 初产者，宜煮谷饲之。其子三日便掐尾，六十日后犍。三日掐尾，则不畏风。凡犍猪死者，皆尾风所致耳。犍不截尾，则前大后小。犍者，骨细肉多；不犍者，骨粗肉少。如犍牛法者，无风死之患。十一、十二月生子豚，一宿，蒸之。蒸法：索笼盛豚，著甑中，微火蒸之，汗出便罢。不蒸则脑冻不合，不出旬便死。所以然者，豚性脑少，寒盛则不能自暖，故须暖气助之。 |
