17  | 弘治十一年，監生江瑢奏言：『劉健、李東陽杜絕言路，掩蔽聰明，妒賢嫉能，排抑勝己，急宜斥退。』健、東陽疏言：『近日兩京科道，指陳時弊，並劾奔競交結、乞恩傳奉等官，雖未盡當，類多可採，而乃漫無可否，概不施行。自祖宗朝至今，未有此事。皆臣等因循將順，茍避嫌疑，不能力贊乾剛，俯從輿論，別白忠邪，明正賞罰，以致人心惶惑，物議沸騰，草野之下，其言乃至於此！乞罷。』上不許，下瑢詔獄。健等又上疏力救，瑢得釋。（今言） |
