47  | 文子家睢，與亳為鄰，久師老子，聞道故博。平王聘而問道，文子對以積德成王，積怨成亡。堯舜以是昌，桀紂以是亡。平王曰：寡人敬聞命矣。以是觀之，平王若有志於為治者也，何不能修德釋怨，而乃信讒懷疑，輒誅伍氏？此文子所以去楚而適越也。子胥勸吴伐楚，遂致鞭尸之辱，甚矣。有國者，怨其可不釋乎？ |
