10  | 這裡，吳媽向來最疼愛他外甥女兒的。自從晴雯的老子把他女兒賣給賴家，賴大家裡把晴雯孝敬了賈母，後來又派去伺候了寶玉，多年沒有見面，吳媽時常記掛。今聽說他外甥女兒死了，把棺柩抬來停放地頭。吳媽叫他男人去買了些紙錢，做了一桌羹飯，裝在籃子裡，提到路上見放著一口屍棺，也沒抬到地裡好好停放，吳貴也不見，想來就是他甥女兒在裡頭，止不住傷心哭了幾聲「苦命的女兒」。只聽得棺內應聲道：「我還沒死呢」。那吳媽連忙住哭細瞧，棺材板片朽薄，裂的有二三分縫，便問：「你當真不死嗎？」裏頭應道：「正是。」吳媽趕忙回家告訴他男人，拿了斧子鐵鍬，趕到棺邊細聽了個真，便把棺蓋撬開，見晴雯臉上雖帶病容，氣色甚正。兩口子把晴雯扶起，坐在棺內。恰有吳家鄰居幾個人，剛纔聽見吳媽的話，當作一件奇事一擁而來。吳媽叫一個人快去拿了一隻筐籃同扁擔繩索前來。吳媽抱起晴雯，裝在筐籃裏面，就央看的人抬回家裏，臥於炕上，給他飲些米湯，連忙延醫診治。 |
