《萇楚齋續筆卷三》
74  | 辛酉二月□□日，即新歷三月三十一號夜，上海租界北蘇州路新垃圾橋堍大火。所有該處房屋，自伍拾柒、伍拾玖、陸拾、陸拾壹、陸拾貳、陸拾參、陸拾肆、陸拾伍及北西藏路壹百肆拾伍號等門牌，各銀行、錢肆、貨棧，悉付一炬。被焚貨物，約值銀貳參百兆。該處皆各銀行、錢肆所立貨棧，堆積押進之貨。租界消防，其法本善，又加以地臨河側，取水極易，乃竟人力難施，延燒數晝夜。予于第三日晚間，路過老垃圾橋，仍見火光燭天，煙霧繚繞。在此處為已衰之火，在他處尚屬燎原之火，誠空前絕後之巨災也。 |
