9  | 〔疏〕《列子》云：姓孫，名陽，字伯樂，秦穆公時善治馬人。燒，鐵炙之也。剔，謂剪其毛；刻，謂削其蹄；絡，謂著籠頭也。羈，謂連枝絆也；暈，謂約前兩腳也。阜，謂槽櫃也。棧，編木為梡，安馬腳下，以去其濕，所謂馬林也。夫不能任馬真性，而橫見燒剔，既乖天理，而死者已多。況無心徇物，性命所以安全；有意治之，天年於焉夭折。 |
