9  | 〔疏〕《列子》云：姓孙，名阳，字伯乐，秦穆公时善治马人。烧，铁炙之也。剔，谓剪其毛；刻，谓削其蹄；络，谓著笼头也。羁，谓连枝绊也；晕，谓约前两脚也。阜，谓槽柜也。栈，编木为梡，安马脚下，以去其湿，所谓马林也。夫不能任马真性，而横见烧剔，既乖天理，而死者已多。况无心徇物，性命所以安全；有意治之，天年于焉夭折。 |
