1 一念所覺,因所以得三元之壽,考一德之修,又所以培三元之壽脈甚矣。念之不可以不覺,而德之不可以不修也。
2 老子曰:「我命在我,不在天。」
3 紫陽真人曰:「大藥修之有易難也,須由我也,由天若非積行施陰德,動有群魔作障,緣是可以自信矣。」道人郭太史,精於談天者也,應天有書,後之星翁推步必 來取法。曰:「五行四柱曰星辰運限如是,而富貴壽考如是,貧賤疾苦如是,而是凶惡夭折若鏡燭影,若契合符,世之人似不能逃其數者及其究也。合於書者固多, 其不合者亦不少,是何歟?豈人生宇宙間,或囿於數,或不囿於數歟?蓋嘗考之。其推玄究微,既條列於前,至其後則曰:「陰功不延其壽,吉人依舊無凶。」又 曰:「隨時應物行方便,縱犯凶星亦不危。」是必有見矣,不然,壽夭休論命,修行本在人。」孫思邈曰:「何以有此言歟?」太極真人徐來勒嘗遇南斗壽星,問壽 夭吉凶之事,星君曰:「天道福善禍淫,神明賞善罰惡逆。人能刻意為善,靜與道合,動與福會,如此則我命在我,不為司殺所執,不求壽而自壽,不求生而自生。 苟或墮綱紀,違天地,肆愚悖侮神明,背仁慈,虧忠孝,明則刑綱理之,幽則鬼神誅之,是不知所積,冥冥中奪其算而夭其壽者矣,廣行陰德如於公治獄,子為丞 相;徐卿積善,袞袞公侯,在所不論。昔比丘得六神通,與一沙彌同處林野間,比丘知沙彌七日當死,因曰父母思汝可暫歸,八日複來。沙彌八日果來,比丘怪之入 三昧。察其事,乃沙彌於歸路中脫袈裟壅水,令不得入蟻穴,得延壽一紀。孫叔敖兒時見兩頭蛇,恐他人又見,殺而埋之,母曰:「吾聞有陰德者,天報之福,汝不 死也。」後為楚令尹。竇禹鈞夜夢祖父謂曰:「汝年過無子,又壽不永,當早修陰德。」禹鈞自是勤修陰德,行之罔倦。後又夢其祖父與曰:「天以汝陰德,故延壽 三紀,賜五子,榮顯後,居洞天之位。」範仲淹為之記。由是觀之,三元壽考,固得於一念之覺,三元壽脈,又在於一德之修也。或曰:陰德曷從而修之?曰:「凡 可修者,不以富貴貧賤拘,亦不在勉強其所為,但於水火、盜賊、飢寒、疾苦、刑獄逼迫、逆旅狼狽、險陰艱難,至於飛、潛、動、植,於力到處種種,多行方便, 則陰德無限量,而受報如之矣。善乎!《西山之記》曰:至人得傳真法,雖云修養所至,是亦陰德之報也。此予所以於參贊書後,複作論曰:陰德延壽。
