《歷代崇道記》
16  | 二十九年正月七日，陳王府參軍田同秀於丹鳳門外忽見紫雲自西北暎樓，又見混元乘白馬，侍従二童子。二童子謂同秀曰：「我昔與尹喜將入流沙之日，藏一匱靈符在桃林故關尹喜舊宅，汝可請帝取之。」同秀具事聞奏，敕差內使李志忠監同秀往陜州桃林縣南十二里故函谷關墟求訪之。俄有紫雲白兔現於枯桑之下，便乃穿掘，下到水際，得石函經匱，玉版朱書細篆。帝聞奏大悅，即令京師列十部樂，歌舞鼓吹，自通化門入。其文於寶輿中五色放光，洞照天地。帝於丹鳳樓上，身披龍袞，手執金爐，六宮嬪婇，競於樓上焚香散花，遙自作禮。帝又令亂撒金錢於樓下，縱令士庶分取，以為歡樂。斯須，山呼之聲，震動京邑。帝令置寶符於靈昌殿，是夜樓閣林樹之上，皆有神燈。乃於正月一日改開元三十年為天寶元年，改桃林縣為「靈寶縣」。其後三年，帝見靈符有「天寶千載」之字，天寶已應改元之號，遂改年為載，乃於其地長樂亭置天寶觀，御製並書靈符銘，立於所獲之處。又於大內置「靈符殿」，賜同秀五品正員官。宰相請加尊號為「開元天寶神武」之字，制可之。乃大赦天下。其年閏四月，帝夢混元謂帝曰： |
