此经本有记云支谶所译出谶月支人也汉桓灵之世来在中国其博学渊妙才思测微凡所出经类多深𤣥贵尚实中不在文饰今之小品阿闍世真般舟悉谶所出也又有支越字恭明亦月支人也其父亦汉灵帝之世来献中国越在汉生似不及见谶也又支亮字纪明资学于谶故越得受业于亮焉越才学深彻内外备通以季世尚文时好简略故其出经颇从文丽然其属辞㭊理文而不越约而义显真可谓深入者也以汉末沸乱南度奔吴黄武至建兴中所出诸经凡数十本自有别传记録亦云出此经今不见复有异本也然此首楞严自有小不同辞有丰约文有晋梵较而寻之要不足以为异人别出也恐是越嫌谶所译者辞质多梵音所异者删而定之其所同者述而不改二家各有记録耳此一本于诸本中辞最省便又少梵音遍行于世即越所定者也至大晋之初有沙门支法䕶白衣竺叔兰并更译此经求之于义互相发明披寻三部劳而难兼欲令学者即得其对今以越所定者为母䕶所出为子兰所译者系之其所无者辄于其位记而别之或有文义皆同或有义同而文有小小增减不足重书者亦混以为同虽无益于大趣分部章句差见可耳
