18  | 或問曰。今之戎獸皮可為褥者。古號何獸。何以謂之戎。答曰。按許氏說文解字曰。夔。貪獸也。李登聲類音人周反。字或作猱。詩云。無教猱升木。毛傳云。猨屬也。箋云。猱之性善登木。爾雅云。猱猨善援。郭景純注曰。便攀援也。爾雅又云。蒙頌猱狀。郭注云。即蒙貴也。狀似蜼而小。紫黑色。猱亦獼猴類耳。按郭此說。蓋蒙頌為獸。狀似猱。又上林賦云。蜼玃飛俊ｒ悟璜P猱。左思吳都賦云。射猱狿。劉逵注云。猱似猴而長尾。尋據諸說。驗其形狀。戎即猱也。此字既有柔音。俗語變訛。謂之戎耳。猶今之香葇謂之香戎。今謂猱別造狨字。蓋穿鑿不經。于義無取。 |
