24  | 公字肩吾别号蛟门隆庆戊辰进士选翰林庶吉士授编修歴官掌詹事府礼部尚书遂入直东阁累加少师左柱国吏部尚书中极殿大学士凡入相十有二年为首相八年年七十赐老归里家居复九年卒赠太傅諡文恭公建储功诸相业俱载国史不具详臧氏曰戊辰史馆大拜者七人以词章擅名者东阿鄞县为最东阿之学殖优于鄞县鄞县之才笔秀于东阿余尝读公全集为溯其所本盖公少与余君房同研席族父嘉则先生名最重公严事之称为句章公尝曰吾学文于君房学诗于句章公门中指授同学切劘俱深得其传而公诗更为独絶盖公才实过于君房故不烦句模字索劳其意匠而苍然作古遂直揜农丈人设以公之才解其诘曲导之苏畅如良马下峻坂而缓辔中衢一何乐也惜夫其仅于农丈人也若嘉则之诗浑涵博丽吐纳古今公才既与相当而更能出奇于其间嘉则如大山长河而公益以崩崖飞瀑嘉则如茂林修竹而公益以竒松异草故其所造几出于蓝至公一生学问及歴年相业读其诗辄放𢘍见之每当老气横厉顾盼自竒斯诚魁然一世之豪也前辈谓如幽燕老将气味沈雄足冠词家之首此可与论诗矣 |
