1  | 《說文·示部》：「禂，禱牲馬祭也。從示，周聲。《詩》曰：『既祃既禂。』」今作「既伯既禱。」按：「禱」字云：「告事求福也。從示，壽聲。」是禂、禱異義。《爾雅·釋天》云：「是禷是祃，師祭也。既伯既禱，馬祭也。」註云：「伯，祭馬祖也。將用馬力，必先祭其先。」是「伯」為馬祭，「祃」為師祭，義亦各別。許氏《自序》云：「《詩》，毛氏。」今按毛傳云：「伯，馬祖也。將用馬力，必先為之祭其祖。」說與《爾雅》合。《皇矣》「是類是祃」。傳云：「於內曰類，於野曰祃。」說與《爾雅》師祭之說合。《毛詩》作「既伯既禱」，而許氏作「既祃既禂」。蓋漢儒師傅既多，不能畫一。按應劭《漢書》注云：「祃者，馬也。馬者，兵之首。故祭其先神也。」是以「祃」字從「馬」為義，與「伯」字「祭馬祖」之義通矣。《周禮·甸祝》「禂牲禂馬」。杜子春注云：「禂，禱也。為馬禱無疾；為田禱多獲禽牲。《詩》曰：『既伯既禱。』《爾雅》曰：『既伯既禱，馬祭也。』」如杜說，則與毛傳「禱，獲也」之說亦合；而「禂」與「禱」字可通矣。惟康成《周禮》注與杜不合，云：「禂讀如伏誅之誅，今侏大字也。為牲祭，求肥大，為馬祭，求肥健。」解禂為大，然終不離禱牲馬以為義。則義雖別，而實通也。孔穎達曰：「禂，讀如伏誅之誅者，此俗讀也。」則《集韻》音作追輪切者，不如徐鍇音都皓切之為得矣。 |
