尚書二十八篇并序一篇共二十九篇秦博士伏生所傳乃聖經之夲真也因暴秦焚書蔵于壁中遭亂遺失所存者止有此耳伏生即以教于齊魯之間因為大傳三篇漢文時求治尚書者無過于伏生使太常掌故晁錯徃受傳之蓋傳其文義講說以發明正經云爾景帝時所傳者亦不過如此至武帝時孔安國等専治古文尚書滋多于此矣故孔臧與孔安國書曰尚書二十八篇儒者以為上應二十八宿不知又有古文尚書也可見武帝以前原無古文尚書明矣自安國古文未出之先尚書正經單行于世如日月之麗于天無一蔽虧及安國古文既出之後分堯典慎徽以下為舜典分臯陶謨帝曰來禹以下為棄稷分盤庚為三篇分顧命王若曰以下為康王之誥凡復出者五篇又于其間離逖改削竄易穿穴之變多而尚書無完經矣至其所治古文一十六篇者多怪異之說及經書所引皆不在其內以故當時老師宿儒尊信正經不肯置對苟從據理辨難不肯奏立學官雖以劉歆移書之勤猶譁攻不已其間或㓕或興信之者或一二不信者恒千百其書遂不顯行于世然其逓逓相承蓋可考也此先漢真孔安國之偽書其顛末大略如此至東晉時善為模倣窺竊之士見其以訛見疑于世遂蒐括羣書掇拾嘉言裝綴編排日鍛月鍊㑹稡成書必求無一字之不本于古語無一言之不當于人心無一篇之不可垂訓誡凡為書者二十五篇見詁訓之難通遂改易其字見意義之丁寧遂刋落其語見棄稷之不可以名篇遂更為益稷見盤庚之上中下可以便已大甲說命泰誓之上中下遂仍為三篇見報告之詞不可以離逖也遂合王出以下為康王之誥又見慎徽五典不可突起為舜典也遂増曰若以下二十有八字則愈巧矣愈近理矣無可得而滲漏矣無可得而掎摭矣雖英材問氣亦尊信服膺之不暇矣然不知自明者視之則如泥中之鬭獸蹤跡顯然卒亦莫之掩也甚者至于不怡懌哉采政忽之類直改易之而無復置疑曰明都弗肯構弗肯穫厥考翼之經直刋落之而無復忌憚顧使聖人之正經反附麗偽書以行于世譬如成周東遷之主氣象銷苶惟列國是依以列國為命者也不亦顛倒舛錯之甚也哉此東晉假孔安國之偽書其顛末大略如此愚毎讀書至此未嘗不嘆息痛恨于先儒也夫所貴乎儒者之釋經在能除聖經之蔽翳使秕稗不得以雜嘉穀魚目不得以混明珠華丹不得以亂窈窕焉耳今反崇信偽書以囚奴正經予畏聖人之言故不得不是而正之特作考異使學者渙然知蔽塞之由然後知余之恢復聖經蓋有不得已焉而非苟為好辨者也
