《第十二卷》
1  | 新昌、嵊縣有冷田，不宜早禾，夏至前後始插秧。秧已成科，更不用水，任烈日暴土拆裂，不恤也。至七月盡八月初得雨，則土蘇爛而禾茂長，此時無雨，然後汲水灌之。若日暴未久，而得水太早，即稻科冷瘦，多不叢生。予初不知其故，偶見近水可汲之田如是，怪而問之農者云云，始知觀風問俗，不可後也。山陰、會稽有田，灌鹽鹵，或壅鹽草灰，不然不茂。寧波、台州近海處，田禾犯鹹潮則死，故作砌堰以拒之。嚴州壅田多用石灰，台州則煅螺𧉻蠣蛤之灰，不用人畜糞。云人畜糞壅田，禾草皆茂；蠣灰則草死而禾茂。故用之。 |
