《第十二卷》
23  | 蘇東坡有云：「紫李黃瓜村落香。」黃瓜，今四五月淹為菹者是也。《月令》：「四月王瓜生，苦菜秀。」王瓜非今作菹這瓜，其實小而有毛，《本草》名菝葜，京師人呼為赤包兒。謂之瓜者，以其根相似耳。今人以其與苦菜並稱，遂疑即今黃瓜，而反以黃字為訛。木綿花生南越，樹高四五丈，花紅似山茶，子如楮實，綿出子中，可貯茵褥，蘇州人稱攀枝花者是也。今紡織以為布者，止可名綿花。《雪間通志》以為木綿花，蓋踵蔡氏誤耳。又嘗見一士人家《葵軒卷》中記序題詠，皆形狀今蜀葵花，蓋不知傾陽衛足，自是冬葵可食者。《詩．七月》「烹葵及菽」，公儀休拔園葵皆是也。古人文字中記載名物，必攷核精詳，故少有此失。 |
