鲁少去声皥之墟在禹贡徐州蒙羽之野成王以封周公长知丈反子伯禽今袭庆东平府沂宻海等州即其地也袭庆府今兖州府东平府今东平州海州今宁海州密州今髙密县与沂州竝隶山东成王以周公有大勲劳于天下故赐伯禽以天子之礼乐鲁于是乎有颂以为庙乐其后又自作诗以美其君亦谓之颂新安王氏曰鲁颂皆以美其君于宗庙无预其诗似用以燕乐此颂之变也○问颂是告于神明鲁颂中如戎狄是膺荆舒是惩僖公岂有是事朱子曰是颂祷之词耳○华谷严氏曰鲁颂颂之变也周之衰也风变而雅颂亡颂声之息前乎风雅之变矣越桓荘僖恵至襄而鲁乃有颂是故雅变而而变雅之甚于变颂之变甚于旧说皆以为伯禽十九世孙僖公申之诗孔氏曰从周公数之故为十九世今无所考独閟宫一篇为僖公之诗无疑耳夫以其诗之僭如此然夫子犹录之者盖其体固列国之风而所歌者乃当时之事则犹未纯于天子之颂孔氏曰虽名为颂而体实国风非告神之歌又曰颂咏鲁公功徳才如变风之美者耳○曺氏曰今以其体观之分章断句实国风之流耳若其所歌之事又皆有先王礼乐教化之遗意焉则其文疑若犹可予与也也况夫子鲁人亦安得而削之哉然因其实而著之而其是非得失自有不可揜者亦春秋之法也朱子曰著之于篇所以见其僭也春秋书郊禘大雩雉门两观犹是意也削之则没其实矣盖其文予之而实则不予也○考索曰亦如存滛乱之诗使后世有见其非耳非谓其言之当也或曰鲁之无风何也先儒以为时王褒周公之后比于先代故廵守不陈其诗而其篇第不列于大师之职是以宋鲁无风其或然欤眉山苏氏曰春秋之际大国皆有变风宋鲁独无风有颂郑氏云宋王者之后鲁圣人之后是以天子廵守不陈其诗所以礼之也或谓夫子有所讳而削之则左氏所记当时列国大夫赋诗及吴季子观周乐皆无曰鲁风者其说不得通矣
