孝經

1 資於事父以事母,而愛同;資者,人之行也。事父与母,愛同敬不同也。資者人之行下孟反。資於事父以事君,而敬同。事父与君,敬同愛不同。故母取其愛,不取其敬。而君取其敬;不取其愛。兼之者,父也。兼,并也。愛与母同,敬与君同,并此二者,事父之道也。古恬反,并也。之者父也故以孝事君則忠,移事父孝以事於君則為忠矣。以敬事長則順。移事兄敬以事於長則為順矣。以敬事長丁丈反,注皆同。則順忠順不失,以事其上,事君能忠,事長能順,二者不失,可以事上也。上,謂天子,君中最尊者也。然後能保其禄位,而守其祭祀,內孝父母,外順君長,然後乃能安其祿位,而守其祭祀。食廩曰祿,居官曰位,始為曰祭,繼世曰祀也。𩚁必錦反。《公羊傳》云:「廩,賜䅽祿也。」祿始為曰祭一本作「始曰為祭」。曰,音越;又人實反。蓋士之孝也。別是非,知義理,謂之為士。士之行孝,當如此章。彼列反。是非《詩》云:「夙興夜寐,無忝尒所生。」詩者,直謂《詩》也;云,言也;夙,早也;興,起也;夜,暮;寐,臥;忝,辱也;所生,謂父母。士為孝當早起夜臥,无辱其父母也。父母而言所生者何?士知義理,則知父母己所從生也。詩云此《詩.小雅.節南山之什.小宛》篇語。夙興夜寐面利反。無忝吐簟反。𤕨所生所生,謂父母。
1 子曰:孝子之事親,按:御注本「事親」下有「也」字。紀孝行也。紀孝行下孟反。居則致其敬,盡其礼也。津忍反。禮也一本作「盡其敬也」;又一本作「盡其敬禮也」。養則致其樂,樂竭歡心,以事其親。羊尚反。則致其樂音洛。病則致其憂,容色不滿,行不正履。病則致其憂疾甚曰病。喪則致其哀,擗踴哭泣,盡其哀情。婢亦反。羊冢反。器立反。按:「冢」字下半從豕。祭則致其嚴;齋必變食,居必遷坐,敬忌踧踖,若親存焉。側皆反;本又作齋。必變𩚁敬忌踧子六反。五者備矣,然後能事親。謂上五者孝道俻矣,然後乃能事其親也。事親者,居上不驕,雖尊為君,而不驕也。為下不亂,為人臣下,不敢為乱也。在醜不爭。同志為友,齊年為醜。醜,類也;以為善惡不忿爭也。在醜昌九反。不爭爭鬬之爭,注及下同。不忿芳粉反,下同。爭也居上而驕則亡,富貴不以其道,是以取亡也。為下而亂則刑,為人臣下好作乱,則刑罰及其身。呼報反。亂則刑罰音伐。及其身也在醜而爭則兵;朋友中好為忿爭者,推刃之道。三者不除,雖日用三牲之養,猶為不孝。按:御注本「不孝」下有「也」字。夫愛親者,不敢惡於人之親,今反驕乱忿爭,雖日煞三牲之養,豈得為孝乎?雖日用三牲之養羊尚反。不敢惡烏路反。於人親
