35  | 楚襄王有疾，太子質於秦，不得歸。黃歇說秦相應侯曰：「今楚王疾，恐不起。秦不如歸太子。太子即位。其事秦必謹；若不歸，則咸陽一布衣耳。楚更立太子必不事秦，失與國而絕萬乘之和，非計也，願相國慮之。」應侯為言於秦王，王不肯。乃遁也。張儀如韓，說韓宣王曰：「韓地險惡，山居，五穀所生，非菽而麥；地方不過九百里，無二年之食料。大王之卒，悉舉不過三十萬，而廝徒負養在其中矣。今秦帶甲百萬，車千乘，騎萬匹，虎賁之士，跿［足句］科頭，貫頤奮戟者，不可勝數。山東被甲胄蒙胄以會戰，秦人捐甲徒裼以趨敵，左挈人頭，右挾生虜。秦逐山東之卒，猶孟賁之與怯夫；以輕重相壓，猶烏獲之與嬰兒。 |
