4  | 夫釣者，雖有籊竿纖綸，芒鉤芳餌，增以詹何之妙，不能與罾罟爭多；弋者，挾繁弱之弓，貫會稽之箭，加以蒲苴之巧，不能與罻羅競獲。何者？術小故也。江河之流，爛胔漂屍，縱橫接連，而人飲之者，量大故也。盆盂之水，鼠尾一曳，必嘔吐而棄之者，量小故也。枳棘之生，數寸而柚枝；櫲樟之植百尺而蒔柯。其何故耶？豈非質小者而枝條蔇之，而體大者節目踈乎？是以達者之懷，則滉瀁而無涯；褊人之情，必刻覈而煩細。自上觀之，趨舍之跡，寬隘之量，斷可識矣。 |
