4  | 粉白黛黑韓退之為文章，不肯蹈襲前人一言一句。故其語曰：「惟陳言之務去，戛戛乎其難哉！」獨粉白黛綠四字，似有所因。《列子》：「周穆王築中天之台，簡鄭、衛之處子娥媌靡曼者，粉白黛黑以滿之。」《戰國策》張儀謂楚王曰：「鄭、周之女，粉白黛黑，立於衢間，見者以為神。」屈原《大招》：「粉白黛黑，施芳澤只。」司馬相如：「靚莊刻飾。」郭璞曰：「粉白黛黑也。」《淮南子》：「毛嬙、西施，施芳澤，正蛾眉，設笄珥，衣阿錫，粉白黛黑，笑目流眺。」韓公以黑為綠，其旨則同。 |
