45  | 董卓闻召，卽时就道，幷上书曰：「中常侍张让等，窃幸承宠，浊乱海内。臣闻扬汤止沸，莫若去薪；去，羌吕翻。《前书》：枚乘谏吴王曰：欲汤之凔，一人炊之，百人扬之，无益也，不如绝薪止火而已。凔，音则亮翻，寒也。溃痈虽痛，胜于内食。言痈疽蕴结，破之虽痛，胜于内食肌肉，浸淫滋大也。昔赵鞅兴晋阳之甲以逐君侧之恶，《公羊传》曰：晋赵鞅取晋阳之甲以逐荀寅与士吉射者曷为？君侧之恶人也。此逐君侧之恶人，曷为以叛言之？无君命也。今臣辄鸣钟鼓如雒阳，贤曰：鸣钟鼓者，声其罪也。请收让等以清奸秽！」太后犹不从。何苗谓进曰：「始共从南阳来，俱以贫贱依省内以致富贵，言何后因宦官得进，进兄弟以此致富贵也。国家之事，亦何容易。易，以豉翻。覆水不收，宜深思之，水覆于地，不可复收，言事发则不可收拾。且与省内和也。」卓至渑池，渑，弥兖翻。而进更狐疑，使谏议大夫种卲宣诏止之。卓不受诏，遂前至河南；河南，周之王城，去雒阳不远。种，音冲。卲迎劳之，劳，力到翻。因譬令还军。卓疑有变，使其军士以兵胁卲。卲怒，称诏叱之，军士皆披，披，芳靡翻。遂前质责卓；卓辞屈，乃还军夕阳亭。贤曰：夕阳亭在河南城西。卲，暠之孙也。 |
