1  | 奚，本匈奴別種，即東胡之地，人物風族與突厥同。族有五姓：一曰阿薈部，管縣六；二曰啜米部，管縣四；三曰奧質部，管縣六；四曰奴皆部，管縣四；五曰黑訖支部，管縣三。每部有刺史，每縣有令，酋長號奚王。唐制，兼饒樂府都督，居陰涼川，東去營府五百里，南去幽州九百里。幽州置饒樂府長史一人以監之。人馬約二萬，後徙居琵琶川，在幽州東北數百里，出古北口。地宜羊馬，羊則純黑，馬則前蹄堅善走。以馳獵為務，逐獸高山，自下而上，其勢若飛。語與契丹小異。㸑以平底瓦鼎，煮穄為粥，既餁，以寒水解之而食。每春借邊民之荒田種穄，秋熟乃來，持穫畢，則窖於山下，人莫知其處所。以木為碓，斷椽為臼，所受不過一斗。自天祐初，契丹兵力漸盛，室韋、奚、霫皆受制焉。故奚之部族為契丹代守邊土，暨虜人虐其首領，去諸怨之，以別部內附，徙於媯州，依北山而居，漸至數千帳，故有東、西奚之號。去諸卒，其子掃剌代立，後唐莊宗破幽州，賜掃剌姓李，名紹威。 |
