《第二十一章諛佞》
11  | 太平公主，沉斷有謀，則天愛其類己。誅二張，滅韋氏，咸賴其力焉。睿宗朝，軍國大事皆令宰相就宅諮決，然後以聞。睿宗與群臣呼公主為太平，玄宗為三郎。凡所奏請，必問曰：「與三郎商量未？」其見重如此。其宰相有七，四出其門。玄宗孤立而無援。及竇懷貞等誅，乃遁於山寺，俄賜自盡。竇懷貞傾巧進用，累遷晉州長史，諂事中貴，盡得其懽心。韋庶人乳母王氏，本蠻婢也，懷貞聘之為妻，封莒國夫人。俗為奶母之婿曰阿㸙，懷貞每因謁見及進奏表狀，列其官次，署曰「翊聖皇后阿㸙」。時人鄙之，呼為「㸙」，懷貞欣然自得。韋庶人敗，遂斬其妻，持首以獻。居憲臺及京尹，每視事，見無鬚者，誤以為中官，必曲加承接。睿宗踐祚，懷貞位極人臣，道諛不悛，以至於敗。先天中，玄宗戡內難，懷貞投水死。 |
