5  | 知府听了呵呵大咲道：「尊太夫人豈不知道理，好縱家人婦女毆打公子？其中必有緣故。須要說個明白。」黃鉞道：「因一個潑丫鬟翠樓，私養傼子，被我拿住他的私孩，他竟不肯伏罪，反刁唆母亲領了一班惡婦，各执棒槌，把我打個半死。要求老公祖替我拿來治罪。」知府搖首道：「難處，難處。翠樓既是尊太夫人之婢，只該求太夫人以家法治之纔是，下官怎好拿他？勸兄息怒，家庭之間，忍耐些罷了。」 |
| 6 | 黃鉞听了這話，不覺提起憨來道：「老公祖差矣。朝廷叫你來做官，要治民間不平之事。我家翠樓臭丫頭，偷外傼不肯偷家傼，我受了他天大的恨氣，母親又替他做主。所以來求你，你又推說尊太夫人之婢不好拿他，我便是我母親養的，不好惹他。难道你也是我母親養的，不敢去惹他庅？」 |
| 8 | 黃鉞还在堂上罵道：「你這沒用的太守，做什庅官？偷傼事也不敢問，只好会吃飯罢了。」恰好拿僉票的差人出來，說道：「黃公子不須着惱，太爷已出票仰県裡太爷，替你拿人責治了。且請回家伺候。」就把票与公了子看了。黃鉞遂回嗔作喜道：「這老賀还是會做官。」就上轎回去。 |
