3  | 先是，别兒怯不花尝与阿鲁图谋挤害脱脱。阿鲁图曰：「我等岂能久居相位，当亦有退休之日，人将谓我何？」别兒怯不花屡以为言，终不从。六年，别兒怯不花乃讽监察御史劾奏阿鲁图不宜居相位，阿鲁图即避出城。其姻党皆为之不平，请曰：「丞相所行皆善，而御史言者无理，丞相何不见帝自陈，帝必辩焉。」阿鲁图曰：「我博尔术世裔，岂丞相为难得耶？但帝命我不敢辞，今御史劾我，我宜即去。盖御史臺乃世祖所设置，我若与御史抗，即与世祖抗矣。尔等无复言。「阿鲁图既罢去，明年，别兒怯不花遂为右丞相，不久亦去。十一年，阿鲁图复起为太傅，出守和林边，薨，无嗣。 |
