2  | 嗟乎！世之人所以病乎此學者，以為迂闊臭腐，縱言空論，無補於身心也。甚或以為立門戶、崇黨與而侈囂譁，無關於行實也。審若是，則此學如懸瘤附贅，假途借寇，謂之不講也固宜，而其實若有未盡然者。蓋吾人在世，不能為枯木濕灰，必有性情之發，耳目之施，以濟日用。不能逃諸虛空，必有人倫庶物，感應之跡。有性情而不知節，則將和蕩而淫矣。有耳目而不知檢，則將物交而引矣。有人倫庶物之交而不知防慎，則將紊秩而棼類矣。此近取諸身，不容一日而離，則此學固不容以一日不講也。且吾人之講學，誠有迂闊而假借者也。然此特習染之未除，未可因此而并以此學為可鄙也。世間豪傑之士，亦有不恃講學褆身而鮮失者矣，然此特天資之偶合，未可恃此而并以此學為可廢也。 |
