送㢲上人赴中丞叔父召序永州龍興寺僧。或問:宗元曰:悉矣,子之得於㢲,上人也,其道果何如哉?」對曰:「吾自幼好佛一作「學佛」求其道,積三十年,世之言者罕能通其說於零陵,吾獨有得焉。且佛之言,吾不可得而聞之矣,其存於世者,獨遺其書,不於其書而求之,則無以得其言,言且不得,況其意乎!今是上人窮其書,得其言,諭其意,推而大之,逾萬言而不煩,總而括之,立片辭而不遺,與夫世之章句徵文字潘云:與析同。言至虛之極則蕩而失守,辯羣有之夥則泥而皆存者,泥,去聲。其不以逺乎?以吾所聞知,凡世之善言佛者,於吳則惠誠,師荊則海雲,師楚之南則重㢲,師師之言存則佛之道不逺矣。惠誠師已死,今之言佛者加少,其由儒而通者鄭中未詳其人或曰鄭絪。洎孟常州洎與暨同。常州刺史孟簡,晚路殊躁急,佞佛過甚。中書見上人執經而師受,且曰於中道,吾得以益達。常州之言曰:從佛法生得佛法分,皆以師友命之。今連帥中丞公御史中丞柳公綽乃子厚之叔父,為湖南觀察使具舟來迎,飾館而俟,欲其道之行於逺也,夫豈徒然哉?以中丞公之直清嚴,重中書之辯博,常州之敏達,且猶宗重其道,況若吾之昩昩者乎!夫衆人之和,由大人之倡,洞庭之南竟南海,其土汪汪也「土」,一作「士」求道者之多半天下一有而字。一唱而大行於逺者,者一本作「焉」字。是行有之,則和焉者,將若居蟄之有雷,「居」一作羣。不可止也」。於是書以為㢲上人赴中丞,叔父召序送僧浩初序。
