諒祚，景宗長子也，小字甯令哥，國語謂「歡嘉」為「寧令」。兩岔，河名也，母曰宣穆惠文皇后沒藏氏，從元昊出獵，至此而生諒祚，遂名焉。以慶曆七年丁亥二月六日生，八年戊子正月，方期歲即位。四月，遣尚書刑部員外郎任顓充冊禮使，供備庫副使宋守約充副使，冊諒祚為夏國主。
