| 2 | 臣等謹案：《巵林》十一卷，明周嬰撰。嬰字方叔，莆田人。官上猶縣知縣。是書體近類書，而考訂經史，辨證頗為該洽。毎條以兩字標目，而各引原撰書之人姓以系之。如質魚、諮杜之類，葢用王充《詰墨》、《刺孟》等篇目之例也。其中如駁王僧䖍之紀次仲，及論杜詩之西川杜鵑等處，亦未免過於執滯。然所刋正處實多，非率爾讀書者可比。王士禎《池北偶談》極稱其辨石尤風一條，解古樂府賜字義一條，君苗無姓一條，髙似孫誤引《金樓子》一條，而謂其詮鍾一條，不知名媛詩歸為吳下人托名鍾、譚，其中文明太后《青臺雀歌》、杜蘭香降張碩詩數條，皆不足辨。然鍾惺、譚元春之書，盛行於天啓、崇禎間，至真贋並出，無由辨別。今鄉曲陋儒，奉其緒論，謬種流傳，知為依託者葢少。既悉其謬，即當顯為糾正，以免疑悞後人。如士禎之言，出於鍾惺則當辨，不出于鍾惺即不必辨。則惟攻其人，非攻其書矣。以是咎嬰，仍不免於門戶之見也。乾隆四十四年四月，恭校上。 |
