1  | 「衣朱衣」，《吕览》作「衣赤衣」。仲夏、季夏亦作「衣朱衣」。按孔颖达疏：「路与服言朱，𩤃与旗及玉言赤者，色浅曰赤，色深曰朱。路与衣服人功所为，染必色深，故云朱。玉与亚马自然之性，皆不可色深，故云赤。旌旗虽人功所为，然染之不须色深，故亦云赤。按《诗》传：『天子纯朱，诸侯黄朱。』又，郑注《仪礼》云：『朱则四入与』，是朱深于赤也。」高诱注：「皆赤，顺火也」，不更立义。鼒按：《说文》云：「赤，南方色也。从大，从火。」「朱，赤色木，松柏属。」《白虎通义·封禅》云：「朱草，赤草也。可以染绛，别尊卑也。」《广雅·释器》云：「朱，赤也。」是朱、赤无别也。又，郑注《易》「困于赤绂」云：「朱深曰赤。」是赤深于朱也。《山海经·中山经》：「有鸟焉，名曰鴢，青身而朱目。」注云：「朱，浅赤也。」是朱浅于赤也。而孔云「色浅曰赤，色深曰朱」者，既据《仪礼》注「染绛一入谓之縓，再入谓之赬，三入谓之糸熏，朱则四入」之说，且以青、苍、黑之例推之，知其当然也。 |
