《東瀛識略卷五》
13  | 臺灣水師巡防各口，額設大小戰艦九十六號；其名有十：曰趕繒船、曰雙篷船、曰雙篷艍船、曰雙篷䑩船、曰白艕䑩船、曰哨船、曰雙篷哨船、曰平底船、曰平底哨船、曰水底碽船。嘉慶閒，又添設同安梭船、橫洋梭船；繼又另造守港船、八槳快船：先後屢有裁增。船身最大者長八丈有奇、寬二丈六尺；大船各有杉板小船，以備緩急及登岸渡港之需。船中各物按十二支命名：頭邊板曰鼠橋，後兩旁欄曰牛欄，柁繩曰虎尾，繫碇繩木曰兔耳，船底大木曰龍骨，兩邊另釘彎杉木曰水蛇，篷繫繩板曰馬臉，船頭橫覆板插兩角曰羊角，鑲龍骨木曰猴楦，抱桅篷繩曰雞冠，抱碇繩木曰狗牙柱，桅腳杉木段曰桅豬。至司一船之事者曰出海，司柁者曰柁工，緣篷桅繩而上登高眺望者曰亞班（一曰斗手），司繚䌇者曰繚手，司碇者曰碇手，司杉板船者曰杉板工：均於班兵內挑選學習，分別九年、六年更換；其餘水手十餘人、二十餘人，視艦之大小為等差。 |
