1  | 明馬明衡撰。明衡字子莘，莆田人。正德甲戌進士，官至監察御史。事跡附見《明史朱淛傳》。是編成於嘉靖壬寅。前有《自序》云：「凡於所明而無疑者，從蔡氏。其有所疑於心而不敢苟從者，輒錄為篇。」書中如「六宗」從《祭法》「輯五瑞」謂是朝覲之常，非為更新立異。《洪範》日月之行取沈括之說，於《金縢》頗有疑辭。皆能參酌眾說，不主一家，非有心與蔡立異者。惟「三江」必欲連震澤，而於「所其無逸」之「所」字亦不從蔡《傳》，則未免意見之偏。又往往闌入時事，亦稍失解經體例。蓋不免醇駁互存。然明人經解，冗濫居多。明衡是編，尚能研究於古義，固不以瑕掩瑜也。《明史》稱：「閩中學者率以蔡清為宗，至明衡獨受業於王守仁。閩有王氏學自明衡始。」考明衡當嘉靖三年世宗尊所生而薄所後，於興國太后誕節詔命婦入賀。於慈壽皇太后誕辰，乃詔免朝。時盈庭附和新局，而明衡惓惓故君，與朱淛力爭。皆遘禍幾，殆坐是終身廢棄。可謂不愧於經術，更不必以門戶之見論是書之醇疵矣。 |
