12  | 夫民有血氣心知之性，而無哀樂喜怒之常，應感而動，然後心術形焉。師古曰：「言人之性感物則動也。術，道徑也。心術，心之所由也。形，見也。」是以纖微癄瘁一作「衰）之音作，而民思憂；師古曰：「癄瘁，謂減縮也，音子笑反。」闡諧嫚易之音作，而民康樂；師古曰：「闡，廣也。諧，和也。嫚易，言不急刻也。易音弋豉反。」麤厲猛奮之音作，而民剛毅；師古曰：「麤厲，抗厲也。猛奮，發揚也。麤作麁字，非是。」廉直正誠之音作，而民肅敬；寬裕和順之音作，而民慈愛；師古曰：「裕，饒也。」流辟邪散之音作，而民淫亂。師古曰：「辟讀曰僻。」先王恥其亂也，故制雅頌之聲，本之情性，稽之度數，制之禮儀，師古曰：「稽，考也。」合生氣之和，導五常之行，師古曰：「生氣，陰陽之氣也。導，引也。」使之陽而不散，陰而不集，師古曰：「集謂聚滯也。」剛氣不怒，柔氣不懾，師古曰：「懾，恐也，音之涉反。」四暢交於中，而發作於外，師古曰：「暢，通達也。」皆安其位而不相奪，足以感動人之善心也，不使邪氣得接焉，是先王立樂之方也。 |
