143  | 《本草》謂螻蛄為鼫鼠，即《荀子》鼯鼠五技而窮者，謂之鼫鼠，而引鼯鼠事，全不可曉。《荀子注》稱：鼯，能飛，不能上屋；能游，不能渡谷；能緣，不能窮木；能走，不能及人；能穴，不能覆身。許氏《說文》言：今河東有碩鼠，大能人立，前兩腳於頭上跳舞。善鳴，食人禾黍。逐則走入空樹中，有五技。《本草》之論，其果然耶？《爾雅》於馨日：天螻也。不聞有鼯、鼫之說。疏曰：一名碩鼠。疏作於本朝諸公，非正文也。於鼫鼠注雖引蔡邕螻蛄之說，郭璞以為形大如鼠，頭似兔，尾有毛，青黃色，好在田中食粟豆，關中呼為鼫鼠，則與蔡說不同。於鼯鼠夷岫注云：似蝙蝠，肉翅，飛且乳，亦名飛生，音如人，食火煙。又與𧐡不類。郭璞《鼯鼠贊》曰：鼯之為鼠，食煙栖林，載飛載乳，乍獸乍禽，反藉孕婦，人為大任。《鼫鼠贊》曰：五能之鼠，伎無能執，應氣而化，翻飛駕集，詩人歌之，無食我粒。是鼯、鼫判然二物，非𧐡明矣。前輩詩用鼯處極多，韓愈詩：猿呼鼯嘯鷓鴣啼；蛟龍出沒猩鼯號。李白詩：鼯啼桂方秋；饑鼯嚬呻。杜甫詩：抨弓落𪕏鼯；饑鼯訴落藤。蘇詩：麏鼯號古戍；饑鼯嗅空案。俱不及於五技。黃詩雖云：五技鼯鼠笑鳩拙。亦不以為馨，前輩嘗以蔡說為非，《本草》必因邕而附益之。不然則螻蛄之五技偶與鼯同，因以名之。若鼠頭、兔尾、人立、跳舞與飛乳、人音，決非螻蛄，明矣。 |
