「《契》曰:『天地設位,而易行乎其中矣。』《易》謂離坎。《悟其》之詩曰:『先把乾坤為鼎器,次搏烏免藥來烹。』乾坤,則陰陽之象也;烏兔,則陰陽之精也。離為日,日秉陽精,而離之中畫卻是陰,是陰藏於陽之宅也;坎為月,月秉陰精;而坎之中畫卻是陽,是陽藏於陰之宅也。《契》曰;『坎男為日,離女為月。』蓋言此也。是知乾坤者,陰陽之純也;坎離者,陰陽之交也。其在人也,情竇未鑿之先,一乾坤純陰純陽之象也;既鑿之後,陰陽之體交,而互藏之精用矣。少陰之數八,男子得之,故二八而精通;少陽之數七,女子得之,故二七而天癸至。豈非陽得陰數,陰得陽數,而互藏之義,斯以見乎?」

或曰;「男子二八而精通,彼之破體,夫固有所感也。女子二七而天癸至,何所感耶?」

曰;「未論有感無感,但其氣既至,則渾淪之體,斯已破矣。且夫地勢重陰之下,而忽有一陽來復,乃十有一月之卦也。斯時也,天地之心果何所見?而夫子嘆之,無亦以造化交感之氣雖未氤氳,而其機斯已動乎?方其不動而動,動而不動之時,是謂先天真乙之氣,所以為造化之根底,品匯之樞紐者,實在於是。迨夫聯兆已彰,形色已見,斯則落於滓質,而屬之後天。故吾所謂破者,乃自氣機之動者而言之,非謂必待於交感氤氳而後謂之破也。且男子之精始通也,其始未必先有滓質,必待其氣先至,既乃化而為水,又既乃化而為精。所謂先至之氣,即先天也;氣化為水,叩天一所生之水也。先天之體既破,后天之用遂行;後天之用既行,先天之真愈隱矣。造化之妙,發泄至此,誰曰不然,請問之師焉。」
