144  | 九月十四日，領同鄉京官具摺謝恩，因水災奉旨撫恤。十八日，欽派稽查中書科事務。公官至卿貳，名望漸崇，而好學不倦。其於朝章國故，如《會典》、《通禮》諸書，尤所究心。又采輯古今名臣大儒言論，分條編錄為《曾氏家訓長編》，分修身、齊家、治國為三門，其目三十有二。公嘗謂古人無所云經濟之學、治世之術，壹衷於禮而已。秦文恭公《五禮通考》，綜括天下之事，而於食貨之政稍缺，乃取鹽課、海運、錢法、河堤各事，抄輯近時奏議之切當時務者，別為六卷，以補秦氏所未備。又采國史列傳及先輩文集中志狀之屬，分門編錄，條分近代學術，用桐城姚氏之說，以義理、攷據、詞章三者為目，依匯輯之。星岡公病風痺踰年，公令弟國華出都還湖南。 |
