69  | 壬寅六月戊寅，元中書平章察罕帖木兒遣使前來致書，太祖謂左右曰：「予觀察罕書，詞婉而媚，是欲餡我。我豈可以甘言誘哉？況徒以書來，而不還我使者，其情偽可見。吾觀天下事勢，若天未厭元，而彼之所為有以厭服人心，則事未可知。今其所為違天悖理，豈能有成？且人謀不如天從。天與人，人不得違。人貪天，天必不與。我之所行，一聽於天耳。夫天下猶器也。眾人爭之必裂，一人持之則完。今張士誠據浙西，陳友諒據江漢，方國珍、陳友定又梗於東南，天下紛紛，未有定日。予方有事之秋，未暇與較，姑置不答。」 |
