23  | 洪武二十二年三月壬辰，太祖御謹身殿，觀《大學》之書，謂侍臣曰：「治道必先於教化，民俗之善惡，即教化之得失也。《大學》一書，其要在於修身。身者，教化之本也。人君身修，而人化之，好仁者恥於為不仁，好義者恥於為不義。如此，則風俗豈有不美？國家豈有不興？茍不明教化之本，致風陵俗替，民不知趨善，流而為惡，國家欲長治久安，不可得也。」 |

| 30 | 洪武二十二年九月戊辰，太祖御奉天門。廷臣有言，比來儒士起自田里，而擢用驟峻，非朝廷愛重名爵之意。太祖曰：「朝廷爵祿，所以待士，彼有卓越之才，豈可限以資格？朕但期得賢，名爵非所懷。若曰起自田里，不當驟用，如伊尹在莘野，孔明在隴中，一旦舉之，加於朝臣之上，遂至建功立業，何嘗拘於官職？朕所患不得賢耳，誠得賢而任之，品秩非所限也。」 |
